Post Match: Galaxies Apart

Wednesday night at BC Place, the Vancouver Whitecaps once again demonstrated the significant gap between themselves and the have-nots in MLS, cruising to a confident 3-0 win over the LA Galaxy.

      1. Sabaly isnt a rookie needing to be stroked- what you see is what you get- he might be a terrific person, but all i am talking about is his soccer ability- he is highly overpaid at $1.1 mill- how that happened is even a bigger mystery than his play

        1. Because he was signed from a club in a top 5 league (Ligue 1)… players don’t leave that level for MLS unless they’re getting a big pay raise.

      2. He works his ass off defensively and makes good off-ball runs to open up space for the other (better) players. Can’t do anything in the final third and isn’t worth his salary but I don’t think he’s an active detriment to the team

  1. what a special performance by our star, RYAN GAULD- worth the price of admission for his constant sweet passes, coupled with a huge work load- we gotta keep him healthy

    surprises:

    1. Sabaly played his best game, but alas will never have the finishing touches to get a goal- but $1.2 mill/season until 2028 is just a way out of whack

    2. Larraz- played his socks off- we just have to remind ourselves that he is not the equal of Berhalter

    3. Caicedo- rather than upping his game as he gets more playing time, his game is sinking

    4. the 2 new players didnt do anything to say they are good signings or not– but we gotta hope they can be + additions during the playoff stretch- still 2 other signings to have a look at

    5. White- how can he get a really good goal and then miss some simple goals which he does on a consistent basis? lets hope he doesnt go into a cold freeze in the playoffs

    6. Laborda is our best and most consistent defender; and Tate and Ocampo are growing into solid MLS defenders

    7. Sabbi- i wish he would chew his gum less and try to finish with goals more
