Our Team
Samuel Rowan – Co-Creator, Managing Editor
Sam has covered the Vancouver Whitecaps and Canadian Soccer since 2018. He’s a member of the North American Soccer Reporters. Previously, Sam worked for both Queen’s University and Simon Fraser University in Athletics.
Alexandre Gangué-Ruzic – Co-Creator
Alex is a soccer journalist who covers all things Canadian Soccer for OneSoccer, CanPL.ca, Northern Futból and the Third Sub.
Caleb is, as he describes it, an aspiring football man but realistic about how likely those aspirations are to be realized.
A interested observer of the ‘Caps since they joined the league in 2009, Andrew holds down the fort for the American contingent. When not covering the Whitecaps, something he has done since 2017, Andrew is a political journalist (pray for him).
Kian is an aspiring journalist with a passion for football. He will be covering the Whitecaps from England, and will be new to The Third Sub team for 2025.
Jake is new for 2025. He currently studies at the University of Toronto, where he is the Sports Editor for The Varsity.
Ian has been covering the Whitecaps since 2016 and usually runs our twitter/bluesky account (and produces the memes) on match days.
Mark has been with the Third Sub since 2023 and can been seen on the sidelines of home matches at BC Place.
Keveren Guillou – Photographer
Keveren has been shooting at BC Place since the Between the Sticks days. He has also worked with the Vancouver Whitecaps and Club Eleven.
Ty is new to the soccer scene, joining The Third Sub for 2025. He is a veteran photographer in the skate industry and also works in the movie business.
