Guess the Starting XI – Leagues Cup vs. Atlante

Welcome back, everyone.

Just as we were getting into the rhythm of league play again, the Whitecaps now turn their attention to Atlante and Leagues Cup, kicking off a busy week with three matches in quick succession.

Atlante is one of the oldest clubs in Mexican football, but they’ve spent quite some time outside the top flight, making this an intriguing first meeting for Vancouver. Jesper Sørensen’s side is still searching for top gear since returning from the World Cup break, so perhaps this competition is the perfect opportunity to get the entire squad firing.

Guess the XI – Competition Rules

• Predictions are considered valid only if posted in the correct match thread before the official lineup is announced (typically about one hour before kickoff).
• You earn 1 point for each correctly predicted player in the Starting XI.
• You earn an additional 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
• You earn 5 points for correctly predicting the match result (Win/Draw/Loss).
• This increases to 10 points if you also correctly predict the exact scoreline.
• Therefore, a perfect prediction (Starting XI + result + exact scoreline) is worth a maximum of 25 points.

    Recent History

    While Atlante FC are one of the most historic clubs in Mexico, they only just returned to the top division on July 16. They had been absent from LigaMX for the past 12 years.

    After being relegated following the 2014 Clausura, Atlante were stuck in the second division for more than a decade, as promotion had been eliminated, despite the club winning the second division title three times (Apertura 2021, Apertura 2022, Clausura 2024).
