The Vancouver Whitecaps are on the road this weekend, as they take on the San Jose Earthquakes at PayPal Park.
The Quakes have been fun to watch under Bruce Arena this year, even though they currently sit below the playoff bar. This SJ team can score goals with the best of them, but just can’t keep the ball out of their own yet. The more things change, the more they stay the same, it seems.
In terms of Vancouver’s squad, they should be well rested after a week off followed by a week of training, still no Ali Ahmed or Ryan Gauld though, for the time being.
Alright, on to rules and standings we go.
– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.
