Guess the Starting XI – Match Twenty Four vs. Sporting KC

Welcome back, everyone.

The Vancouver Whitecaps are in action Saturday night at BC Place, as they will host Sporting KC.

It’s been a bit of a tough year for Sporting, who currently sit 13th in the West, having parted ways with long time bench boss Peter Vermes after another lacklustre start. Dejan Joveljić has been a big success for SKC, as he’s notched 13 goals already, and looks set for another elite year of production as an MLS striker. Otherwise though, the list of contributors is pretty short, outside Dániel Sallói.

In terms of Whitecaps news and notes, you have probably heard by now, but Ranko Veselinovic has suffered a season-ending ACL tear, so that is certainly not ideal. Otherwise, Vancouver’s All-Stars are back, so those players are available.

Match Preview: Hosting Sporting KC

Alright, on to rules and standings we go.

– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.
