Guess the Starting XI – Match Ten vs. Minnesota

Welcome back, everyone.

After the absolute scenes at BC Place on Thursday night, Vancouver will have to keep the momentum going as much as they can for an MLS matchup away at Minnesota United on Sunday afternoon.

Match Preview: A Minnesota Diversion

Vancouver’s team selection will be very interesting, as eyes have to be looking ahead to the second leg against Miami, but we have also seen that Sørensen is not really one for heavy squad rotation. This is certainly where Vancouver still missing Ryan Gauld and Mathias Laborda hurts a bit more.

I’ll have updated standings at the beginning of next week. Good luck everyone!

– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

  1. 2-2
    Takaoka
    Ocampo Veselinovic Blackmon Adekugbe
    Ngando Cubas Priso
    Sabbi White Nelson

Axel mentioned there would be some rotation in preparation for Wednesday but whether it will be this much, TBD! Maybe even Utvik will be in the lineup, but starting Nelson and Adekugbe would be surprising enough. Having said that, Minnesota is nothing to sneeze and Jesper is conservative in lineup rotation…

  2. Sabbi-Rios-Nelson
    Ngando-Priso-Berhalter
    Adekugbe-Ranko-Halbouni-Ocampo
    Tak

1-1 going for the tie but the Caps could blow them away. Also I can’t imagine not having Berhalter playing so put I him. But does he ever rest. He would probably be good to come on second half as burst of terror. Go Caps!

  3. Sabbi Rios Nelson
    Ngando Cubas Berhalter
    Johnson Blackmon Ranko Ocampo
    Boehmer

    3-2 Caps win
    Cam Pierce

    Yohel Takoka;
Tate Johnson;Ranko Veslinovic; Bjorn Inge Utvik; Édier Ocampo
Jean-Claude Ngando; Ralph Priso; Pedro Vite
Emmanuel Sabbi; Daniel Ríos; Jayden Nelson

    1-1

  5. Takaoka
    Ocampo Halbouni Ranko Adekugbe
    Ngando Priso Berhalter
    Sabbi Rios Nelson
2-1 Minnesota – actually I think the Caps could probably pull this off but if I say they will lose it makes it more likely they win. The results went our way yesterday with Austin losing and Seattle and Colorado tying.

  6. Caps win 1-0 (CDPrior)

    Takaoka
    Ocampo Halbouni Ranko Adekugbe
    Ngando Priso Berhalter
    Sabbi Rios Nelson

    1. Honestly, swap Adekugbe for Johnson. I think you show your faith in Johnson by playing him again against Messi

  7. Caps 3 min 1

    Boehmer
    Johnson, hallbouni, blackmon, adekugbe
    Priso, ngando, vite
    Rios, nelson, sabbi

  8. HERE IS WHO I WOULD START WITH MY EYES ON THE MIAMI GAME:

    BOEHMER

    BOVALINA UTVIK HALBOUNI ADEKUGBE

    NELSON NGANDO PRISO BADWAL

    RIOS KREILACH

  9. Dirqx piqx for starting XI for Match X vs MNUFC

    Takaoka
    Halbouni Veselinovic Utvik Ocampo
    Priso Cubas Vite
    Nelson White Ngando

    ‘Caps win 1-0
    Go ‘Caps

  10. Boehmer
    Bova Utvik Halbouni Johnson
    Ngando Priso Badwal
    Rios Nelson
    Kreilach

0-0 I’m debating if Johnson or adekugbe should start but I think they will rest Sam for Wednesday

    1. there is no way Jesper should start Adekugbe- Ocampo and Johnson will be given the starting spots
