Good Friday morning Caps fans. I hope you all are having a good week and that the weekend is beckoning. The Caps survived a do-or-die showdown with red-hot St. Louis City, grabbing a 0-0 draw and maintaining their spot at the top of the Western Conference. This was a tale of two halves. The Caps were very good in the first half, piling on the … Continue reading Coffee with the Caps, Friday October 16
The Vancouver Whitecaps will try and end St. Louis City’s 13 match unbeaten run when the two teams face off Saturday night at BC Place. The meteoric rise of St. Louis has lifted them to sixth in the Western Conference, giving them a shot at a home playoff game. They were also one of the busier sides in the summer transfer market. Good Monday morning Caps fans, hope you all had a lovely weekend and that the heat didn’t get to you. It was an infuriating match on Saturday, with the Whitecaps somehow emerging victorious after one of the worst penalty calls you will ever see. I suppose this is the flip side of Tim Ford stealing points against San Jose but fair is fair: Mathias Laborda … Continue reading Coffee with the Caps, Monday August 25
With the transfer window slammed shut, the Vancouver Whitecaps will look to kick off the stretch run by picking up a vital three points against St. Louis City SC at BC Place on Saturday night. Good Monday morning Caps fans, hope you all had a lovely weekend as we firmly enter into springtime. Vancouver muddled through to grab a 0-0 draw in St. Louis on Saturday night. More goals from Brian White, more assists from Ryan Gauld and a vintage creative performance from … Mathias … Continue reading Report Card: Not Too Shabby
The Vancouver Whitecaps will hope a return to the friendly confines of BC Place will get them back on track, as they look to notch only their third league win since April against St. Louis City on Saturday. Last season, this might have been a somewhat daunting proposition, as the upstart expansion side shocked everyone by over-performing their xG and their expectations to claim the … Continue reading No Place Like Home: Can the Whitecaps get back on track against St. Louis?
After a one-year absence, the Vancouver Whitecaps are back in the MLS playoffs, as they officially clinched a spot in the postseason with a 3-0 win over Western Conference leaders, St. Louis City, at BC Place on Wednesday. With that, they also snapped a four-game winless run, while allowing them to climb back up to 5th place in the West in the process. 🔙 in … Continue reading Perfect Performance: How Vancouver found their form against St. Louis
With three games left in the MLS regular season, the pressure is on every team to punch their ticket to the bright lights of postseason. Vancouver is caught in the perilous position of being within reach of security, but equally, they could still miss out if they really slip up. A strong road trip fizzled out near the end, where the Whitecaps looked tired and … Continue reading Pre Match vs. St. Louis: The Whitecaps are making the Playoffs…right?
Saturday night in Missouri, the Vancouver Whitecaps dropped a contest with MLS newcomers St. Louis City SC by a final score of 3-1. I think what happened in this match is pretty simple, so we won’t belabour the point here too much: the Whitecaps played quite well against a top side in the West on short rest, but were absolutely killed by some very poor … Continue reading Report Card: Shambles in St. Louis
