Guess the Starting XI – Conference Semifinals vs. LAFC

Welcome back, everyone.

After a restful international window, the Whitecaps are staring down the barrel of the biggest match in their MLS history this weekend, as they will face LAFC for a spot in the Conference finals against either San Diego or Minnesota.

In terms of the injury report, everyone other than those ruled out for the season are available (EDIT: Daniel Rios is listed as out). So plenty of options for Jesper Sørensen to contemplate!

Ok, to rules and standings we go. (Appreciate your patience as I look to update the standings)

– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

    3-0 Whitecaps. Yep I think we can do this. I’m unsure if they use Ocampo or Tate really but I think this is a 3CB with a fullback type of thing.

    I really hope there is no red card or somethign like that to ruin the game. That’s my big worry.

  7. It’s nice not to have an automatic line up to go to. I’m going to go with LA just because if I’m devastated by the outcome at least I will do well here! If I’m happy with the outcome – who cares! GO VANCOUVER!

    Would love to see Gauld start but I am assuming he still doesn’t have a full 90 in that knee so better to have him late in the game than earlier

  13. Its tough to pick the starting line-up as we dont really know the complete status of the returning players from injury- but i am selecting assuming all are 100% fit and have been training well

    I think jesper will switch tactics and suprise LAFC with a whole new starting 11, catching LAFC off gaurd and ultimately punishing them. Personally I think this is best for the team. I would like to hear your thoughts!
