After a very successful regular season, the Vancouver Whitecaps will face FC Dallas in the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs, starting this Sunday at BC Place.
These two teams faced one another on Decision Day, but an early red card, along with some missing players from both rosters, made it hard to prognosticate what we will see from this playoff matchup. The big question for Vancouver is what they will do at centreback, with Mathias Laborda suspended and Tristan Blackmon yet to appear since his knee injury. Will Joedrick Pupe finally make an appearance? Only Jesper Sørensen knows for sure.
One bit of housekeeping business from me regarding the playoffs. Let me know if you want this included with the regular season or recorded as a separate competition, and I will adjust accordingly.
Alright, on to rules and standings we go.
– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

Oh ok. Yeah I guess they know if he can do it but it would be awful if he reinjures like White and then misses the playoffs should we get through to the next round. He’s a talisman though. Is so great having him back there.
