Guess the Starting XI – Match Thirty Three vs. Orlando

Welcome back, everyone.

The Vancouver Whitecaps are in action this weekend down in Florida, as they take on Orlando City in a match that was previously postponed.

The Whitecaps are still hunting for the top spot in the West, but these matches over the international break always have a weird feel to them.

Match Preview: Whitecaps and Orlando City square off in war of attrition

Here is the latest on Vancouver’s roster for this one, starting with those away for their country:

Ali Ahmed (Canada) – International Friendlies
Kenji Cabrera (Peru) – International Friendlies
Andrés Cubas (Paraguay) – International Friendlies
Rayan Elloumi (Tunisia U-23) – International Friendlies
Jayden Nelson (Canada) – International Friendlies

Followed by those injured and questionable:

Sam Adekugbe (achilles) – Out
Tristan Blackmon (knee) – Out
Sebastian Schonlau (achilles) – Out
Ranko Veselinović (knee) – Out
Brian White (hamstring) – Out

Joedrick Pupe (hamstring) – Questionable

Alright, with that, on to rules and standings (which I will work on updating):

– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw; this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

At least Orlando is missing more players on international duty than we are! HA! But they’re a mix of starters and subs…Hmm.
