Welcome back, everyone.
The Vancouver Whitecaps will be back at BC Place on Wednesday night, after a rather unusual reprieve from what had been an incredibly busy first half of the season.
Their opponents for this match are perhaps the best story in the West outside Vancouver, yet another expansion team that has found first year success, though unlike St. Louis and Austin before them, their form looks to be far more sustainable. The team is a good mix of proven talent from European leagues, unheralded youngsters and MLS vets who might just need a role that better suits their strengths. This combination has led to one of the more well rounded teams in MLS, one that scores at an elite level but is still pretty solid defensively.
For the Whitecaps, the continual question is who is actually available to play. Sam Adekugbe is out for the season and now Ali Ahmed can be added to the injury woes, as he has left Canada camp after taking a nasty challenge against Curaçao. Equally, there is still no meaningful update on Ryan Gauld. Brian White and Seb Berhalter remain with the US at the Gold Cup, as does Jayden Nelson for Canada. At the very least, Emmanuel Sabbi is back in the mix after missing last game as he was getting married, congrats to him!
Alright, on to rules and standings we go.
– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

Skipping out of reception, hope I can do the lafc game here
