Well, this is it. The Vancouver Whitecaps play for the Concacaf Champions Cup title on Sunday, as they face Cruz Azul in a winner take all final match.
For Vancouver, Sebastian Berhalter is suspended, and Ryan Gauld remains out of the picture, but otherwise, the Whitecaps have the full roster at their disposal.
Cruz Azul will be no easy challenge, as there will be a lot of the pressure on the club after being eliminated by Club America in the Liga MX playoffs in their most recent match. The pressure will be on to come away from this season with a trophy, as otherwise, heads might roll in Mexico City.
Ok, without further delay, on to rules and standings.
– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

Adekugbe could start and then bring in the speed of Johnston but Johnston is cooking and he did play all the games to get them here. Or the opposite strategy. Also maybe Rios gets up front with White ?! He can tranlate what the defenders are talking about ! Gonna be fun to see what happens. I put Sabbi cause Nelson played full game weds so I’d rather see him start but seems like a lot of action at high altitude.
It’s me I take it back. I am going with Adekugbe. He’s got the down south experience and Johnson could be a difference maker if we need pace and energy in a tight game. Go Caps!
Dang Johnson should have started after all. Needed someone like that without Berhalter and Gauld.
