Guess the Starting XI – Match Eleven vs. Real Salt Lake

Welcome back, everyone.

After the emotional high of reaching a continental final on Wednesday night in Miami, the Vancouver Whitecaps are right back in action this weekend in MLS play, as they will host Real Salt Lake at BC Place.

Match Preview: Underwhelming RSL

In terms of Vancouver’s squad, rest after the heavy travel will have to be considered. Brian White, in particular I would assume might sit this one out after coming off with some muscle tightness in Miami. As such, we could see a situation similar to last weekend in Minnesota, where the team changes notably from half to half.

Alright, with further delay, on to rules and standings we go (which have now been updated):

– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

I probably could slot in Bovalina at right back and in front of him Badwal but since it’s the first home game after a big win I think they bring the starters on for the crowd. Then they can get some big cheers going off.
