Welcome back, everyone.
The Vancouver Whitecaps open their MLS Season in Portland this weekend, taking on the Timbers.
After a frustrating result against Saprissa down in Costa Rica, Jesper Sorensen will be keen to right the ship quickly at Providence Park on Sunday. Emmanuel Sabbi, Damir Kreilach, and Daniel Rios remain out. For all the rest on the matchup, check out our preview.
I still have a bit of formatting to do with the standings, including separating Concacaf from the MLS season, so that will be optimised in due course.
Good luck!
- Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
- You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
- You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
- All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
- At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

Definitely tentative on starting Nelson.
I wish Jesper would give nuggets of hints like Vanni used to on the morning news BWAHAHA
The only thing for certain is that none of the lineups will be the same the first four matches of the season…

So close to getting off to a good start, instead I am at the bottom because Saprissa needed to ruin it! Oh well, let’s try again.
