Welcome back, everyone.
With the 2024 Vancouver Whitecaps season officially in the books, it also marks the end of another year for the Guess the Starting XI contest. I really enjoyed following along with this competition weekly throughout the season, and I hope that everyone who was involved feels the same way, as it always provided a little more intrigue come matchday.
Without further delay, it’s time to take a look at the final MLS Standings for this year. I’ve opened up the google sheet so that everyone can take a look back over the season as a whole if they like.

2nd Place: Lokeshgreen
3rd Pace: Mark Goodman & Flic Soda
In terms of housekeeping news and notes, you will see that I have deducted the two lowest or missed scores from everyone’s season. I think this is a good way of not letting one or two missed games ruin your season, while still rewarding people for placing their predictions on a weekly basis. If anyone has thoughts or suggestions about this for next year, please let me know.
Overall, we had a good group of predictors this season over 400 points, with 13 contestants within 56 points of one another. That makes what IsabelG was able to do all the more impressive, winning the competition by a 38 point margin, really running away with things in the last couple months of the season. Congrats!

Congratulation Isabel for such a commanding win , I was happy and surprised to finish 2nd as I have only recently started following the great game., After the success of our national teams I decided to follow the whitecaps my local team. In my 70 years I have never seen a live match or played in one. Thanks to the writers and contributors on this site I have learned a lot about the game
