Guess the Starting XI – Game Two vs. LAFC

Welcome back, everyone.

The Vancouver Whitecaps are returning to BC Place Sunday afternoon for game two of their first round series with LAFC. After a 2-1 loss in the opener, Vancouver will need to defend their home pitch in order to keep the series, as well as their season, alive. It’s certainly no easy task, but the Whitecaps demonstrated enough in game one to make you believe they have a fighting chance.

In terms of squad news and notes, here is the latest from UBC:

Alright, on to rules and standings.

  • Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
  • You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
  • You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
  • All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
  • At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

  8. I don’t think we’ve ever had more agreement on the lineup. It’s the outcome that is more in question.

    I just don’t like the Caps against the LAFC counter on the flanks. I think Bouanga is going to light up Laborda like a Roman candle in this one if the Uruguayan is left on an island with him with flank midfield defensive coverage.

    Has to be starting lineup right ? Maybe they could put Utvik in for Laborda.

    I really want a miracle here so going with 2-2 then Caps win on Penalties.
