Guess the Starting XI – Decision Day at RSL

Welcome back, everyone.

For the final time in the regular season, we gather to make some picks!

The Vancouver Whitecaps have already secured a date in the MLS Playoffs, but it doesn’t really feel like that, given how the team has been playing as of late. Can Vancouver surprise with three points on decision day and jump up into the 7 slot, or are they destined for the play-in?

In terms of the roster, here is the latest from training this week:

Ok, on to rules and standings:

  • Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
  • You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
  • You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
  • All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
  • At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

    surprised i have done this well in my predictions, In my 70 years i have never played a match or even attended a live match. Got interested in the beautiful game watching the national team and decided to follow my local team the whitecaps.     Caps 3-1 No l logic I just think they have to win a game at the end here. It’s on the road so that may be good for Portland as well.

    This game means nothing as far as I can tell since they’ve already given up home-field advantage which means they will probably win. I think they have to rest Gauld for that game.. But I’m going to say 2-1 RSL
