After a thrilling Leagues Cup debut down in LA, the Vancouver Whitecaps will host Liga MX opposition at BC Place on Saturday night, as Club Tijuana will be in town.
Tijuana lost their opener in the competition to LA by a score of 3-0, but there’s still plenty to play for on both sides after the Whitecaps dropped a point late against LAFC on Tuesday. Simply put, a win or draw at the end of 90+ minutes will ensure the Whitecaps make it through, while an outright win for Tijuana would put them through.
In terms of Vancouver’s lineup. Andres Cubas was rested in the opener, so I imagine he will start. Otherwise, availability should not have changed much for Vanni Sartini.
Ok, on to rules and standings.
- Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
- You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
- You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
- All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
- At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.
