Guess the Starting XI – Match Twenty Two at St. Louis

Welcome back, everyone.

After a midweek win in the Canadian Championship, the Vancouver Whitecaps are on the road again this weekend, as they face St. Louis City SC.

Following a memorable comeback against St. Louis at BC Place a couple of weekends ago, including a Brian White hat-trick, this St. Louis team will surely be looking for revenge under interim manager John Hackworth.

In terms of Vancouver’s squad, here is the latest from training.

  • Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
  • You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
  • You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
  • All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
  • At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

    Was surprised that Raposo didn’t even travel for the Pacific FC match! I did have Laborda in my XI today but perhaps someone else more rested would come in. Vanni can be full of surprises sometimes!

    Vanni was asked about Picault after one of the matches. Basically, Vanni’s not going to deny Picault of minutes even if he wants to leave. Do well in training and get rewarded!
