Welcome back, everyone.
The Vancouver Whitecaps continue their Canadian Championship defence this Wednesday, as they head out on the road to the Island to face Pacific FC.
Obviously, the history of this matchup needs little introduction, as we have seen some memorable encounters between these two sides. Pacific has won just one of their last three in CPL play, and they’ve struggled all season to score goals consistently, despite being a very good defensive team.
In terms of Vancouver’s lineup, keep in mind that three Canadians are required, and that Isaac Boehmer will be starting for Vancouver in this one. I would assume that Sam Adekugbe and Luis Martins will be held out given their niggling issues. Tristan Blackmon, Damir Kreilach, and Pedro Vite, I’m not so sure.
Ok, on to rules and standings.
- Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
- You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
- You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
- All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
- At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.
