Guess the Starting XI – Match Twenty One at CF Montreal

Welcome back, everyone.

Another quick turnaround here, especially with all the chaos of Copa America and the Euros going on at the same time, but the Vancouver Whitecaps are in action once again this Saturday, taking on CF Montreal in La Belle Province.

Montreal has been struggling this season, and they sport the worst defensive record in MLS in terms of expected numbers. Despite that, they are still just two points from the playoff places in the East, so their season is far from done and dusted.

In terms of Vancouver’s squad, Andres Cubas will be back, so that will be a big boost. Otherwise, I can’t imagine player availability has changed much from Wednesday night.

Apologies, but I’m still running a bit behind with the predictions, so I’ll have those updated soon.

  • Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
  • You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
  • You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
  • All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
  • At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.
