Welcome back, everyone.
The Vancouver Whitecaps won’t have much time to think about their 3-0 drubbing at the hands of LAFC this past weekend, as they are staying south of the border this week, prepping for a midweek matchup with the Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
The Rapids made some splashy off-season signings and while it has taken a while to get things going, they are right in the mix of solid but not great teams that seem to make up a large portion of the Western Conference this year. For those CANMNT supporters out there, Moïse Bombito is one to watch for, as he’s locked down a starting spot on the backline and chipped in with two goals already this season.
In terms of Vancouver’s squad, Sam Adekugbe and Damir Kreilach remain out. Otherwise, I would expect some changes at the back and in those wide areas after things did not work very well against LAFC, but we shall see. I’ll post any additional updates here.
Ok, on to rules. I’ll have updated standings for the weekend.
- Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
- You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
- You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
- All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
- At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.
Shoot I was on prepping a shoot and totally missed this game. I probably would have had no idea anyways though definitely would have picked Utvik and Johnson for this game. Gotta have a better look at our forward option.
