Welcome back, everyone.
Following a frustrating home loss to the Sounders in the Champions Cup, the Whitecaps are back at it on Sunday as they take on Minnesota United at BC Place.
The Loons have a fresh face in James Rodríguez, and they are 1-1-1 to start their MLS season, most recently falling 3-1 in Nashville.
As for Vancouver’s squad, Andrés Cubas is back for this match after serving his suspension in midweek. Otherwise, there’s no new team news to report.
Alright, on to rules and standings. On that note, I’m trialling moving the predictions over to a Google Form, as it could help me collect and tabulate the results more efficiently each week. Consider this a beta test for now.
If you have any issues using the Google Form — or if you don’t read this far down the page — feel free to leave your predictions in the comments as usual, and we’ll see how this goes over the next couple of weeks.
Guess the XI – Competition Rules
• Predictions are considered valid only if posted in the correct match thread before the official lineup is announced (typically about one hour before kickoff).
• You earn 1 point for each correctly predicted player in the Starting XI.
• You earn an additional 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
• You earn 5 points for correctly predicting the match result (Win/Draw/Loss).
• This increases to 10 points if you also correctly predict the exact scoreline.
• Therefore, a perfect prediction (Starting XI + result + exact scoreline) is worth a maximum of 25 points.

I am curious if Gherasimencov makes a start. Throwing him into the fire with little experience but might want to rest some ppl for the return leg against Seattle.
Haha, I was right!
Would like more context provided for exact scoreline some of us are not too smrt. Home team score first and or caps first? Also that it was just X-Y
There’s an option above to predict the match result (VWFC win, Draw, VWFC loss) so you don’t need to designate team in the scoreline section.
Seems to work well!
Fingers crossed, I imagine it makes life quite easier!
Works Well….
Form worked well. Easy to add in lineup.
Also expect it will be easier to publish the results.
Suggestion…
Also miss seeing what everybody posts in the comments as that makes this weekly ritual feel more like a club with a shared interest. Maybe the tool could also automatically publish the submitted form as a comment so that we get the best of both worlds.

Agree with this if there’s any way to see everybody else’s posts I’m often the beneficiary of better ideas from other people.

Same here. It is uncommon but I have changed my prediction based on other people, especially at the end of the season where I am in competition with a couple players. This secrecy is kinda interesting, although the lack of transparency sucks. Not that it matters much.
Love the modernisation of tracking predictions! I will miss being able to peek at everyone else’s!
