Welcome back, everyone.
The Vancouver Whitecaps are returning to Concacaf action this week, as they host Pumas UNAM at BC Place on Wednesday night.
After a 0-0 draw in Toronto, the home side will be looking to re-discover their top early season form and build an advantage for the second leg in Mexico.
Despite Pumas struggling in the league, this will be no easy feat for Vancouver, as they are still without Ryan Gauld and Sam Adekugbe, as well as the likely absence of both Andres Cubas and Mathias Laborda, who picked up injuries in Toronto.
Alright, on to rules and standings.
– Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
– You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
– You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
– All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
– At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.

Looks like we had similar thoughts, but I am less optimistic because of the missing Andreas (and Gauld…and Adekugbe).
