Guess the Starting XI – Match Thirty Two vs. Minnesota

Welcome back, everyone.

After a lacklustre week against their Cascadian rivals at home, there’s no time to rest for the Vancouver Whitecaps, as they are right back in action at BC Place this Saturday against Minnesota United. If Vancouver wins this matchup, they will secure a spot in the top seven in the West, avoiding the dreaded play-in game. If Vancouver drops points here, all hell could break loose.

In terms of injuries and absences, Ali Ahmed and Ryan Gauld remain in question, especially with upcoming international calls. Stuart Armstrong should be good for some minutes again, but I don’t think he’ll start until LAFC on the 13th. Fafa Picault is suspended.

Ok, on to rules and standings.

  • Predictions will be ‘valid’ if posted HERE (or more accurately, whichever is the correct match thread) before the lineup is officially announced, usually about an hour before kickoff.
  • You receive 1 point for every player you correctly guess to be in the Starting XI. You receive 4 bonus points for correctly predicting all 11 starters.
  • You get 5 points for correctly guessing Win/Lose/Draw, this doubles to 10 if you also predict the right score-line along with the result.
  • All this means, if you correctly predict the Starting XI, Final Score, and Winner, you can earn 25 points!
  • At the end of each half of the season, the contestant’s lowest two scores (or missed predictions) of that period will be deducted from the cumulative standings.
